ABOUT US
The Federation of Rail Organisations of NZ (FRONZ) exists to represent the Heritage & Tourist Rail Industry in New Zealand.
The Federation of Rail Organisations of New Zealand (FRONZ) exists to champion the interests and welfare of the Heritage and Tourist Rail Industry across the nation. As the collective voice of our members, we play a pivotal role in advocating for policies that preserve and enhance New Zealand’s rich rail heritage.
Major functions of the Federation include:
- Represent members’ interests to government departments and public organisations.
- Monitor legislation affecting members and make submissions as needed.
- Negotiate access agreements to the National Rail Network System.
- Liaise with and negotiate agreements with other major rail industry participants.
- Define industry standards and training while providing technical information to members.
- Offer a forum for members to exchange ideas.
- Appoint specialist convenors to provide advice and information to members.
- Provide public liability insurance for members.
- Maintain affiliations with like-minded international organisations.
WHAT WE DO
FRONZ is dedicated to ensuring that our members have the support and representation they need to thrive. Our key functions include:
Advocacy
We represent our members’ interests to Government and key stakeholders, ensuring the Heritage and Tourist Rail Industry is well-supported.
Legislation
We monitor and respond to legislative changes, making submissions to protect and promote our industry’s interests.
Access & Negotiation
We secure access agreements to the National Rail Network and collaborate with other rail industry participants.
Standards & Training
We define industry standards and provide technical information and training to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Community
We offer a forum for members to share ideas and collaborate, supported by specialist advice.
Insurance
We provide public liability insurance to safeguard our members’ operations.
International Links
We maintain affiliations with global organisations to promote knowledge sharing and cooperation.
